On the 14th November 2024, Emma Nilsen was appointed as Interim Mayor. Her role was to replaced Victor Chase due to the sudden abandonment of public office, along with several other government officials.
In the early days of her position, we saw many changes. Including a new vehicle mandate, a reduction in car taxes and also promised funding for the Los Santos Police Department. However, since those changes, we haven’t heard anything from the office in regards to further improvements.
In her announcement regarding the Los Santos Police Departments Funding, she said;
“The LSPD is at the heart of our city’s safety efforts, and we must make sure our officers have the tools, resources, and support they need to carry out their mission effectively.”
However, it seems that the concern isn’t of maximum priority. The Los Santos Police Department are still in dire need of more funding. Especially to upgrade service vehicles and to continue with the expansion of key tools in the fight against crime.
Also, the dead of Isabella Rossi was to be at the top of the priority list for the mayoral office. However, it seems the investigation has gone quiet. (Article on Isabella Rossi Investigation coming soon!)
What Would We Like To See?
From Interim Mayor, Emma Nilsen, we would like to see further positive change. We would also like to see an strategy to growing the economy while also bettering our public services.
Some of the change we need in Los Santos includes;
- Detailed Investigation into Isabella Rossi
- Funding approved and delivered to both the LSPD and LSFD
- Strategy against corruption in key public services
- Programs to reduce crime in hotspot areas
- Funding into degraded areas such as Ganton and Jefferson
- More of a Community Focus, looking at events to improve quality of life and also the ecomony
- Revision of the current pay scale for base jobs, such as Bus Driving, Trash Collecting, Taxi Driving
- Increased support for business start-ups
- Stronger focus on disrupting the supply of drugs into Los Santos
Los Santos is still in a state of disrepair.
Current Position For A Permanent Mayor
Emma Nilsen was assigned the role of Interim Mayor. Typically in this event, an election is planned and people are presented with the opportunity to campaign for mayor. However, it seems that planning for an election isn’t in the pipeline yet.
We have written to the relevant individuals to understand the plan for a permanent mayor.
