Official Statement From Interim Mayor Emma Nilsen

Within less than 48 hours of being Interim Mayor, Emma Nilsen has released a public service announcement in regards to her new position.

As a positive step into the right direction, hopefully she can be exactly what Los Santos needs. Bringing in change to better the standard of living and the rate of crime on our streets.

The public statement says;

“I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as your Interim Mayor. This is a responsibility I do not take lightly, and I’m filled with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. Los Santos is a city of remarkable diversity, resilience, and potential. It’s a city that has always inspired me, and it is now my privilege to help lead it through a new chapter.

As someone who has spent much of my career working in finance, I understand the critical role that strong, sustainable policies play in shaping a thriving community. But the challenges we face as a city are not just about numbers on a spreadsheet. They are about the people who live here—the families, the businesses, the workers, the students, the dreamers, and the doers. Each of you deserves a city that not only supports your dreams but actively works to create a brighter future for all.

I want you to know that I am committed to making Los Santos a city where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and feel safe. I believe in the power of good governance—transparent, accountable, and focused on the needs of the community. That’s why I’m already working on a series of larger legislative reforms aimed at improving our city’s infrastructure, economy, and quality of life.

One of my top priorities is ensuring that our city is more inclusive and accessible. That means fostering economic growth that benefits everyone, not just a select few. It also means addressing the urgent need for affordable housing, improving our public transportation system, and making sure that every neighborhood, no matter its size or background, receives the resources and attention it deserves.

In addition to these immediate concerns, I am also working on longer-term initiatives that will ensure Los Santos thrives in the years to come. From strengthening our environmental policies to developing new public safety measures, I am dedicated to creating a Los Santos that is as sustainable, safe, and prosperous as possible.

I know that the road ahead will not always be easy, and the changes we need to see may take time. But I want you to know that I am committed to listening to your concerns, to working with all stakeholders, and to ensuring that your voices are heard as we move forward.

This is our city. Together, we can make Los Santos a place where opportunity, fairness, and justice are not just ideals but realities. I look forward to working alongside you all as we begin this new journey together.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in a better future for Los Santos.

With deep respect and gratitude,
Emma Nilsen
Interim Mayor, Los Santos”

What Needs To Change?

Los Santos is in a state of disrepair. This is something we mention regularly and we stand by. Los Santos needs a lot of change to become safe again.

Change we would like to see includes;

  • Reduced access to firearms
  • Revival of the firearms license applications
  • Heavier sentences on guncrime
  • Funding into needed areas like Ganton and Idlewood
  • Revisit the vehicle mandate
  • Improved funding to key services like the Police and Fire Departments
  • More funding into Public Works to remove graffiti and general cleanliness
  • Revise of taxes

Hopefully as Interim Mayor, Emma can make the changes we need.
